Last weekend the Basel Open Masters 2024 in the St. Jakobshalle in Basel was successfully completed. Already in the 14th execution, the international karate tournament has invited kata and kumite fighters from a total of 18 nations to Basel. With more than 715 entries, the Basel Open Masters is the largest international karate tournament in Switzerland. Thus, Switzerland also leads the overall medal statistics with 13 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 32 bronze medals ahead of Germany and Luxembourg. In the parade discipline, the Basel Open Masters (Open category of the elite), two athletes could be crowned. In the women’s category, Hannah Riedel, Gold medalist of WKF Youth League 2023 and Silver medalist of WKF Youth League 2024 beat the competition. In the men’s category, Tuomas Suur-Inkeroinen from Finland successfully prevailed over the other top athletes. Hannah Riedel and Tuomas Suur-Inkeroinen are the Basel Open Masters 2024.
